Splashing the Boat and Setting Sail

Today was a big day! We splashed the boat and got it all set up, so we took off on our adventure. Our first stop was just 2.5 miles away at Stock Island Marina, where we took on 286 gallons of fuel at $5.40 a gallon. That came to a whopping $1,546! Wow! We'll burn all that getting up to Jacksonville and then some.

We got out of there at 3 PM and made our way all the way up to Marathon. We cruised under the bridge and just dropped the hook right at dark on the north side of Marathon. It was a full day today, and we're looking forward to another full day tomorrow.

Tomorrow's goal is Key Largo or further north, maybe almost to Miami. Maybe we'll make it to Boca Chita Lighthouse!
